It's Not all Play
The newest addition to the squad is coming into that age
where we need to do a little work. The hardest part about having a new dog in
the winter is training is limited. I keep birds in my freezer as well as
bumpers in the house in the wintertime. Piper started to work on her hold command
in the house only working on holding the object for a small amount of time. She
has been a quick learner, and loves praise where Roxy was most definitely food
driven when it came time for training. She has been working hard and very
quickly moved up to holding a goose wing rather than a bumper. I very excited
to see what next hunting season brings her.

This post truly resonates with the idea that life is not just about fun and games. It's a great reminder that balance is key, and sometimes hard work and perseverance are just as important as relaxation and play. Thanks for the thoughtful perspective—it's inspiring and thought-provoking!
