New Pup Training

Working to get ready for another fall means a tune up for Roxy and hard work with Amelia. We did a lot of finding food in the grass to keep on working her nose, a lot of retrieve work and working on basic obedience with Amelia, the hard work comes when its time to start pulling it all together, and not going to lie I probably should have done some more 1 on 1 with both of these girls to help get them ready, but I didn’t always have the time, and I did notice this fall that some bad habits I had really worked harder on with Roxy last year showed up during this season more, and its my fault I should have put more work in with her 1 on 1 rather then trying to focus more on Amelia. Amelia is a very stubborn little yellow lab which I soon learned, though and I could go on a rant about other things that I would have done with her but she’s not my dog, I’m just helping which I sometimes needed to remind myself of. I’ll get into some of these events when I talk about our hunts this season. For a first season my expectations are not to high the dog is learning and a teenager if they can at least be safe and make attempt, I’m happy with that, here is a video of some of the field work and water work that the girls did.
