Can You Still Hunt?

Well Despite Roxy's escapades, and 17 day vacation she took on her own, we had to decide on whether she was going to hunt this year or not. Before her 17 day vacation we knew she was going to go hunting, but now there were a lot of unanswered questions, was she gun shy, would she even remember her job. Would she even pick up a goose? We decided not to take her on opening day, and let me tell you she was very, very, very mad at her dad for not letting her go. She knew the guns being taken out the camo being put on and the early morning wake up call meant, and she wanted to be apart of it. She stayed home that day whining at three in the morning because she had to stay home with mom. I worked on retrieves with her in her blind, with a goose call and many more, she wanted to be apart of the action. She wasn't as strong as before he 17 day vacation yet, but she still wanted to do it. We took her opening weekend, and I swear if she had the chance she would have fired us for a new group of hunters. We were calling geese but couldn't get them to come in. Finally when we were about ready to call it done for the day (of course because that's how it always works.) we got a small group to come in. She broke out of her blind right as we popped out of ours (something we are now working on and she is doing awesome at) and the guys were able to get two. She retrieved one of them and my husband got the other. Though we knew her hunting career was most certainly far from over.
